Nairobi National Park Itinerary
6:00 am: Pickup from your hotel, apartment, or residency in Nairobi.
6:30 am: Depart for Nairobi National Park through the main gate for a 3-hour game drive. Your guide will aim to show you as much variety of animals as possible. You may spot the rhinos and lions getting ready for the day. Nairobi National Park is only 7 km from the Nairobi bustling city center and offers a unique wildlife sanctuary with a backdrop of tall buildings. You'll have the chance to see 4 of the Big 5 (except the elephant) roaming in this open plains country with a section of highland forest as well as stretches of broken bush country, deep, rocky valleys, and gorges with scrub and long grass. Ornithologists can also catch sight of over 300 bird species, including the Secretary bird, crowned cranes, vultures, peckers, and many more.
10:00 am: Depart Nairobi National Park and head to Nairobi National Museum. The museum hosts both temporary and permanent galleries that attract learners and tourists alike. You'll visit the following galleries: The Cradle of Human Kind gallery, The Story of Mammals, The History of Kenya, Cycles of Life Gallery, Numismatic Exhibition, and the Asian African Heritage Exhibition Gallery.
11:30 am: Depart Nairobi National Museum and head to Nairobi Snake Park, which is adjacent to the museum. On display are cobras, puff adders, mambas, and the large African-Rock python (non-poisonous) found only in Kenya. Several species of crocodiles found in Africa, the American alligator, freshwater terrapins, and tortoises are also on display. The aquariums holding coral fish from the East African lakes and rivers are a main feature of the park.
12:30 pm: Depart Nairobi Snake Park and head to Maasai Market. Kenya is well known for its landscape and wildlife, but visitors are often left wondering about the lifestyle and culture of the country’s indigenous communities. Here, you'll have the chance to visit a Maasai village and hear first-hand insights into Maasai traditions directly from community members. You'll also get the chance to shop for high-quality souvenirs at several of Nairobi’s finest outlets.
2:30 pm: Depart Maasai Market and head back to your hotel or apartment in Nairobi.
